We arrived in China

So, here we are, in the TianLun Dynasty Hotel in Beijing. In a mere 13 hours, we flew to the other side of the world. We arrived too late to do any real sightseeing today, but we can see the Forbidden City looking out from our hotel window. We wandered around the neighborhood today which was unremarkable except for the excruciatingly loud traffic and car exhaust. The air was heavy here today. Hard to tell if this was just due to the humidity and cloudiness of the day or if this is how it is here during this time of year. Tomorrow (Saturday) we're planning a marathon sightseeing day - trying to go to the Great Wall and also to tour the Forbidden City. Evan just snapped a photo of me typing this blog entry. Absolutely gorgeous - after no shower and wearing the same clothes for two days..... It will be our test picture. We're using Evan's laptop from work and we haven't gotten all the kinks out yet.
